Hiking

Hiking

Vancouver Island is packed with hiking trails, from the spectacular Carmanah Valley, to the world-renowned West Coast Trail. Those who appreciate challenging hikes, will enjoy climbing the 3000-ft. summit of Mount Benson, located near Evening Cove. Diving

Exceptional diving opportunities abound on Vancouver Island. This is an area of internationally renowned dive sites, as confirmed by the Jacques Cousteau Society, (the waters surrounding the Islands were rated second only to the Red Sea for clarity and diversity of marine life). Divers can explore the HMCS Saskatchewan, a navy destroyer, sunk near Nanaimo to create an artificial reef. Additional information is available from Dive BC.

Bungy Jumping

For a unique adrenalin rush, try jumping from the only legal bungy jumping bridge in North America. Over fifty thousand have made the leap off the 140-foot high bridge at The Bungy Zone since it opened in 1991.

Boating
