The herring run has just started in Evening Cove!
The extra noise from seagulls and bald eagles this morning was a clue that we were in for another herring run. The seals have gathered in large numbers. The water is white and the herring are clearly visible. The seagulls dive down and come up with a little fish. The only guest at this party is the larger California seal which should be arriving shortly. This is a real treat at Evening Cove and only lasts a few days. Enjoy this spectacle from one of our decks or pick a comfortable spot on a big log right on the beach!
